Nestled within 300 acres of stunning parkland, RMS for Girls offers an extraordinary setting for all types of filming projects. Whether you’re looking to capture the grandeur of 1930s Art Deco architecture or film against the backdrop of scenic landscapes, our school provides the perfect location for your production.
Our school features beautiful Art Deco buildings from the 1930s, offering an elegant, timeless aesthetic that adds character to any production. The striking lines and intricate details of these iconic structures make them ideal for period dramas. Our grounds provide a variety of natural settings, including manicured lawns, wooded areas, open fields, and an arboretum —each offering a unique backdrop.
No matter the genre or scale of your production, we can accommodate it. From intimate scenes in quiet rooms to grand sequences in sweeping halls, our venue can be tailored to your filming needs. We welcome all types of filming, including movies, television shows, commercials, music videos, and more. We have worked with a range of productions including Netflix, BBC, Channel 4 and Working Title Films.
Located just one mile from the M25 we are easily accessible for film crews, offering convenience without sacrificing the beauty and privacy of our campus. With ample parking, loading areas and other essential facilities, we can ensure that your production runs smoothly from start to finish.
Locations & facilities
The Great Hall is a beautiful, grand hall set in the heart of the School, offering a stunning backdrop for all types of filming.
With its striking stained glass windows, large wooden stage, and original chandeliers, the hall provides a timeless and elegant setting that enhances any production. Its classic architectural features and high ceilings make it an ideal location for period dramas, historical films, or any scene requiring grandeur and sophistication.
The Dining Hall is a striking 1930s space that offers a unique filming location with its original features and vintage charm. With its impressive high ceilings, grand chandeliers, and murals depicting food groups, this large hall exudes both elegance and character.
The hall can comfortably seat up to 300 people, making it an ideal venue for large banquet scenes, community gatherings, or any production requiring a vast, atmospheric interior. The murals add a distinctive touch, bringing a sense of history and artistry to every frame.
Adjacent to the Dining Hall is The Quad, a beautifully manicured lawn surrounded by red brick buildings and original windows, offering a serene outdoor space that can complement indoor scenes or serve as a peaceful backdrop for transitions. Whether you’re capturing an intimate moment or a bustling scene, the Dining Hall and The Quad provide versatile settings to bring your production to life.
The Chapel is a large, ornate space with original stained glass windows. Seating up to 550, the Chapel’s timeless beauty offers a magnificent setting for your special day or Christening.
Full of details, such as the large hand painted murals depicting biblical scenes, various carvings into the stone, such as the peacock, representing eternity. Due to the licence, The Chapel is available to those with a close link to RMS, for example, former students.
The Chapel is currently undergoing refurbishments to the roof and ceiling and we are expecting it to reopen from 2026.
We have 300 acres of grounds ranging from parkland, to manicured lawns, forest schools, and a golf course. Whatever your vision, our grounds provide the ideal backdrop for any production.
We have 24 classrooms, most of which have been redecorated to a modern standard. The rest are original in style.

Indiana Jones
RMS for Girls played a starring role in two iconic Indiana Jones films—Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade.
The school’s majestic architecture, including the renowned Great Hall, was used as the setting for the college where Dr. Indiana Jones taught. Fans of the films will instantly recognize this striking space, which still retains much of its original charm today. The original teaching desk which Indiana taught at is still in situ in our maths classroom, though the tiered lecture seating has gone.
We are immensely proud of our connection to these legendary films, which continue to spark excitement and nostalgia for fans around the world.
As we are an operating boarding school, we are unable to accommodate ad-hoc visits. However, we invite you register for updates regarding upcoming Indiana Jones events.

ARE THERE LIMITATIONS ON WHAT WE CAN FILM?
Whilst we aim to be flexible, all content must be appropriate for a school setting. We will always ask for a synopsis of the shoot as well as script pages for scenes that will be filmed at RMS. If we have any concerns we will discuss these with you.
WHEN IS FILMING ALLOWED TO TAKE PLACE?
Yes, with a large car park and ample grounds we can accommodate unit bases. If you are filming locally and are interested in locating your unit base at RMS, please speak to a member of the team.
WHEN IS FILMING ALLOWED TO TAKE PLACE?
Filming is typically available outside of school hours, during weekends, and throughout school holidays. We may be able to accommodate limited filming during term time, depending on the scope of the project.
ARE THERE FACILITIES FOR CAST AND CREW (E.G. GREEN ROOMS, CATERING, RESTROOMS)?
Yes, we can provide access to restrooms, changing areas, and spaces for cast and crew to rest or prep. Catering can be arranged on request.
DO YOU PROVIDE SECURITY OR ON-SITE STAFF DURING SHOOTS?
We can provide a site representative but ask that you provide your own security during shoots.
WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR BOOKING THE SCHOOL FOR FILMING?
Please contact us with details about your project, including dates, areas of interest, and crew size. We’ll guide you through availability and costs.
IS PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE REQUIRED?
Yes, we require all production companies to provide evidence of public liability insurance prior to filming.
ARE THERE ANY NOISE OR TIMING RESTRICTIONS ON SITE?
We would always want to be mindful of our local residents. If you are planning on filming a shoot with loud noise or late filming, please discuss this with us in advance so we can accommodate accordingly.
