Choosing the best summer camp for my child
With so much on offer, there’s something to suit every interest and age group. Here’s a closer look at what’s in store…
String Chamber Music Course
Calling all string players ready to spend a week making music together. From 3rd to 7th August 2026, 9am to 3pm each day, young musicians playing violin, viola, or cello at Grade 5 or above are invited to join us from across the local area.
Leading the week is acclaimed cellist Diana Smith (BMus (Hons), LRAM), joined by guest coaches from the University of London Symphony Orchestra. Students will work through a series of ensemble masterclasses, everything from intimate duets to full chamber groups, sharpening their technique and growing in confidence with expert support at every turn.
- Held in Alex House, our dedicated Performing Arts Centre
- Rounded off with a celebratory concert, giving students the chance to show off everything they’ve learned
- £350 per place
Concert Band
There’s nothing quite like the sound of a full wind band in full swing, and over three days this August, your young musician can be right in the middle of it.
We’re thrilled to be running this course in collaboration with the National Youth Concert Band, the UK’s leading youth wind band, which brings players together to perform, to find fresh inspiration for their musical journeys, and to make the kind of friendships and memories that last well beyond the final note.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Running 10th to 12th August 2026, 9.30am to 4pm
- Open to wind, brass, and percussion players of Grade 6 and above
- Guided by RMS instrumental teachers and the NYCB tutor team and conductor David Chatterton

Arts Summer Camp
Why just look at nature when you can press it into art? Running from 17th to 19th August, 9am to 3pm and open to Years 5 and 6, this camp invites young artists on a hands-on creative journey across our school grounds.
We’ll swap standard canvases for Gelli Plates — flexible, reusable printing surfaces that capture every last detail, from the veins of a leaf to a single blade of grass. And we won’t just be staying in the studio: we’ll head out on “texture hunts” across the grounds, hunting for inspiration underfoot and overhead, with our famous RMS Tree Walk thrown in for good measure.
- Forage & find: gathering ferns, wildflowers, and textured bark from the school gardens
- Layer & leap: building up colours and shapes to create “ghost prints” and vibrant masterpieces
- Master the brayer: getting hands-on with professional rollers and high-quality paints
- Create a collection: leaving with a series of unique botanical prints to enhance any creative portfolio
Spaces are priced at £90 per day.
